Warm Your Body and Mind with Coffee Pletok A la Saung Abnon

If you are a coffee lover, you should try this unique coffee named pletok coffee in Saung Abang None located in Setu Babakan Betawian Cultural Village (PBB) on Jalan Moch Kahfi 2, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. Besides keeping you awake, pletok coffee can also warm your body.

Even if it’s already cold, the coffee could still warm your body since it is formulated with 15 kinds of spices. The price is only Rp 5,000 per cup

Saung Abang None manager, Fajar, said the idea of blending pletok beer with coffee came from him and his friend who love to drink coffee. Because of this mixture and rich with spices, the coffee then named pletok coffee.

“We’ve known pletok beer, a drink with rich flavor of spices from Betawi. At first, many of us love coffee. From that, we got an idea to make pletok coffee. It has remarkable savor, either drinking it in hot or warm. Even if it’s already cold, the coffee could still warm your body since it is formulated with 15 kinds of spices. The price is only Rp 5,000 per cup. We only serve in ready to drink, we have not produced it in sachet,” uttered Fajar, Monday (6/16).

Besides Pletok Coffee, the customers of Saung Abang None can also enjoy traditional Betawian food such as grilled uli, kembang goyang (crunchy flower-shaped cookies), Betawian dodol (glutinous rice cake), and Pletok Beer.

Joko, one of the customers, admitted that he is always drink pletok coffee twice a week since the coffee is safe for gastric.

“Usually after I drank coffee, my gastric acid increased. But not with this coffee. I come here with friends at least twice a week. This (Saung Abang None) is a nice place to hang out with friends. Many youngsters from various backgrounds hang out in here. There are cooks, humanists, teachers, and broadcasters. They exchange their minds particularly in Betawian culture development,” he told.

Saung Abang None is designed with traditional nuance. The wall is made from a series of bamboo sticks, while the roof is composed of stacks of palm leaves. The inside interior is very ethnic with a vicious nuance of bamboo plait in the chairs. There is also a big hall for gathering place. In addition, the visitors are indulged with free internet connection (WiFi).
